+ Course DescriptionThis 1-day interactive, instructor facilitated course is designed to prepare new directors and Lodge Moose Legion Committee members for their new leadership role within the Moose Legion.

- Describe how they can support the mission of the Moose Legion
- Explain the duties of the Directors
- Understand the support structure of the Moose Legion
- Understand the purpose and function of the Lodge Moose Legion Committee

Secretary Education Conference (SEC)

+ Course DescriptionThis 1.5-day interactive, instructor facilitated course teachers Moose Legion Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries how to work together to accomplish the jurisdictional goals of the Moose Legion. The training will briefly recall the concepts covered in MLEC. Five additional lessons are included to cover the Moose Legion Secretary’s detailed responsibilities.

+ ObjectivesStudents, after attending Secretary Education Conference, should be able to:
- Recall the responsibilities of the Moose Legion and its members
- Identify specific accountabilities of the Moose Legion Secretary and Assistant Secretary
- Work with example Moose Legion membership reports to recognize how the data can add value at business, membership & committee meetings
- Identify how the Moose Legion Secretary prepares for all jurisdictional meetings and communicates results; become familiar with reusable meeting templates, tools and checklists
- Recognize how, and where, Moose Legion financial transactions are properly recorded in QuickBooks, interpret monthly financial data
- Identify annual reporting and remittance deadlines
- Compare and contrast the Assistant Secretary’s responsibilities with those of the Moose Legion Secretary.

AudienceThis class has been designed primarily for Moose Legion Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries. Other Moose Legionnaires who wish to learn more about the role of Moose Legion Secretary and Assistant Secretary are welcome to attend.

+ PrerequisitesPrior to attending this class, participants will need to complete a 2-HOTT training session and an MLEC session. You must have prior knowledge of, and experience with, LCL and QuickBooks operations within the Moose environment. Basic LCL and QuickBooks operations will NOT be re-taught in this class.
