September Message from Kimberly Pettit

SEPTEMBER already?!  My goodness, where has the time gone?

For me it seems like yesterday we were in Tampa, Florida for the International conference and the installation of your new officers.  As your Grand Regent I look forward to meeting, greeting and being a part of your Moose life this year. I have a little friend who is traveling with me, Tiddlywinks, my sock monkey moose.  He will keep me on the straight and narrow, I hope, but he will also report on our many comings and goings in the Moose Fraternity.  Be sure to look for him during my next visit!

Sadly, we lost two great Members in August, please continue to keep the families and friends of Vivian Borom and Andy Collins in your prayers as they grieve.

In August, I attended my first Conference/Convocation as OV, in Little Rock, Arkansas and let me tell you the co-workers ROCK in Little Rock.  I enjoyed my weekend with them so much and hope I was able to impart to them many new ideas and lots of great information.  I spent the weekend of September, 8-10 in Illinois with Supreme Governor Willard Kitchens.  We visited Lodges and Chapters as well as spent time on Mooseheart’s campus for Illinois Day.  On Sunday we had the privilege to take part in presenting the Senior Students their Class Rings.  I especially enjoyed meeting Tyra Bradley-Johnson. What an enjoyable and heartfelt weekend.

No rest for this retired gal – I type this for you from my room at the Holiday Inn, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin preparing for their Conference and Convocation.  I am looking forward to an amazing weekend of learning and having fun with the co-workers and brothers here.

I hope the September activities and events in your Chapter are going well.  This is Higher Degree-Star Recorder month, so please make sure you are honoring your newest Star Recorder and celebrating with the Star Recorders who have come before her.

October is right around the corner. Trees are changing color, the air is getting cooler and while many are carving pumpkins, the Women of the Moose are putting up trees and celebrating Christmas in October for Mooseheart and Moosehaven.  Make your Chapter meetings festive, informative, productive and FUN!

Please keep all our members in your thoughts and prayers as endure the wrath of Mother Nature; wildfires, floods and hurricanes.  We have lodges in need of repair, members’ homes damaged or destroyed and sadly, personal injuries or loss of life.  As members we have all pledged ourselves “to assist good standing members of the Order in any matter threatening their families.”  If you or your Chapter can assist in any way, I thank you.  Thoughts and prayers, monetary donations and supplies are all greatly appreciated.

Co-workers, love to each of you as we journey this path together this year!
