Ramblers Stage a Tough, But Losing, Effort Against Maranatha

Senior tailback Kevin McArthur got close, but not quite into, the end zone on this left-side sweep.

> Try as they might, the Mooseheart Red Ramblers could not contain the Maranatha Baptist Crusaders and lost Saturday’s Homecoming football game 20-0 on a crisp and beautiful afternoon.

School spirit was seen (and heard) throughout the stadium on Saturday, Oct. 2. Band Members (from left) Justin Upchurch, Terrance Giacomo and Alex Ruiz motivated the crowd with “Hang on Sloopy.”

The ladies of the 2004 Mooseheart Homecoming Court were (from left) Homecoming Queen Sade Taylor and Britney Magyarosi, Jessie Ray, Martrise Hall, Adrianna Pinto and Carmen Avila.

Homecoming Spirit week activities included amusing dress-up days and plenty of good-natured competitive activities—including, here, a race where classes had to carry a football between their legs across the Fieldhouse floor without touching it with their hands. Freshman Anthony Coleman concentrates as he tries not to lose control!

Benefit Concert on Partially Restored Pipe Organ

Diana York-Miller
> Mooseheart 1977 alumna Diana York-Miller, now a professional organist, played a benefit concert Saturday morning on the partially restored House of God pipe organ. The alumni-sponsored project has, so far, raised $5,000 for restoration of the 54-year-old instrument. While York-Miller was able to use only some “stops” to skillfully play “Mooseheart the Happiest” and Beethoven’s “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee,” the Alumni Association still needs $45,000 more for the complete restoration. For more information, call Alumni Secretary Bill Harvey at 630/723-2066.
