Mooseheart Gridders Received a Warm Welcome from Southern Illinois Lodges During Visit Last September

Mooseheart Gridders

> The Mooseheart Red Ramblers football team traveled 300+miles southwest to visit several southern Illinois Lodges early in the football season last September. Their “tour” began with a lunch courtesy of Edwardsville, IL Lodge 1561/Chapter 82. This was followed by dinner at Granite City, IL Lodge 272/Chapter 247. There, the team members were thrilled to meet the Granite City cheerleaders, who gave them each bags of sweets made possible through donations by Mascoutah, IL Lodge 815/Chapter 392 and O’Fallon-Fairview Heights, IL Lodge/Chapter 2281. The next day the team headed to Wood River, IL Lodge 1349/Chapter 263--and to play a contest at nearby Metro-East Lutheran in the St. Louis area. The game didn’t look too promising for the Ramblers at the beginning--but they rallied and won 32-12. After the game the team enjoyed snacks prepared by O’Fallon-Fairview Heights; they headed north for home, with one last stop at Litchfield, IL Lodge 1634/Chapter 581 for a victory dinner. Southern Illinois Moose Legion 101 helped contribute to the weekend as well. At left, the uniformed Ramblers proudly display a banner signed by numerous members in the southern-Illinois Lodges; at top right is the scoreboard for their victory over Metro-East Lutheran; below is an action shot from that game.
