In the Moose, May 1 Always Brings
Changes; This Year, More Than Ever--
But the Need to Build Membership is a Constant
A New Beginning--And How!
> For our Lodges, Chapters and Moose Legions, May 1 begins a new fiscal year. Newly elected officers--Lodge Governors, Chapter Senior Regents, and Moose Legion Presidents--now have the task of assembling their plan of action for fiscal year 2005-06, in order to achieve growth and greater success for their respective units.
Major changes for the Loyal Order of Moose and the Women of the Moose are underway, and more are ahead--but basic bottom-line goals don’t change: Each fraternal unit achieves its individual merits through increasing good-standing membership, increasing net assets, filing timely required reports, and following the laws of the Order.
By now, new-member quotas have been established for (and sent to) each Lodge, Chapter and Moose Legion. These quotas should have been communicated to the respective Membership Committees and to the general membership via newsletters, posters and/or websites, so that all are aware of the goals. At the upcoming International Convention in Las Vegas this June, a new membership theme will be announced, with details on individual sponsor awards for 2005-06. New campaign materials will arrive at Moose Lodge and Chapter offices immediately following the Convention. Remember that effective May 1, no sponsor credits will be noted for any Lodge award until the candidate is enrolled. (Chapter and Moose Legion sponsor credits have traditionally operated this way.) Credit will, however, be given to the respective unit toward their quota awards as soon as applications are reported to Moose International.
May 1 also begins a new year of amassing credit toward the Moose International 5 Club, Director General’s Circle of Distinction, and Moose 25 Club.
There is one carryover from last year: The Loyal Order of Moose ring set, Chapter ring and Moose Legion ring remain available to qualified sponsors who enroll 25 members over the three-year period from May 1, 2004-Apr. 30, 2007.
Time’s almost up for Convention pre-registration!
You’re not yet registered for the Las Vegas Convention? Visit
www.mooseintl.org/portal/Convention/materials/2005_LasVegas.asp
Only until May 16 can you pre-register at a $50 rate. After May 16, you’ll only be able to register on-site in Las Vegas--and at $75. While rooms at the headquarters hotels of Bally’s and Paris have sold out, overflow rooms are available across the Strip at Excalibur (see the website address above).
Qualified Moose member-sponsors, both men and women, will enjoy this year’s Moose 25 Club presentation of The Charlie Daniels Band on Sunday, June 19.
And, members of the 2005 Director General’s
Circle of Distinction, along with qualified Women of the Moose sponsors, will be Moose International’s guests at a private Monday, June 20 performance of Bally’s Jubilee!
Final 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser to be awarded in Las Vegas!
This past year during the “It’s Up To Me” campaign, Loyal Order of Moose sponsors had the opportunity to win a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser. The first was awarded in Las Vegas last November during the “Unleash the Power” leadership seminar. The second was awarded this past Feb. 16. Those two winners were Charles Pruitt of Strasburg, VA Lodge 402; and Harold Doolin Jr. of Sabina, OH Lodge 1244. The final “PT” to be awarded will be a convertible--with the name to be announced during the Las Vegas Convention. You can still qualify--if you sponsor at least one member during the period between 7/1/04 and 5/31/05. Your name will be submitted once in the drawing for each member you sponsor during this period.
And--if the final name drawn is of a Moose member present at the Las Vegas Convention, he’ll receive a $1,000.00 check to use toward gasoline!
