20th International Mixed Bowling Tournament
Wellsville, NY Wears Team Crown
> Only 17 pins separated the top five teams in the 20th annual International Moose Mixed Bowling Tournament, held last October in Murfreesboro, TN.
The team from Wellsville, NY Lodge 601 claimed the team title with a 2719 score, which was 13 pins better than the team from McMinnville, TN Lodge 1725.
Mitch Wegner from Streamwood, IL Lodge 2055 bowled a 300 game on his way to the men’s singles title. Wegner’s series total was 795.
In second place in men’s competition was Ron Barrill, from Morgantown,WV Lodge 264.
Shirley McGinn from Ionia, MI bowled a 768 total to claim the women’s title over Donna Eddy from Morgantown, WV.
Bethelean Bolyard teamed with Barrill to win the doubles title. The pair of Morgantown, WV bowlers had a 1461 score compared to a 1457 tally from second-placed Linda Hibshman and David Adams from McMinnville, TN.

| Foursome from NY State and FL Claim Men’s Mixed Golf Title

> The 2006 Moose International Mixed Golf Tournament was hosted by Jamestown, NY Lodge 1681 at South Hills Country Club in Busti, NY, last June 10-11.
The combined two-day tournament consisted of 156 golfers from the U.S. and Canada. Participants included members traveling from as far as Florida, Tennessee, and Oklahoma as well as those members who traveled from Canada.
The four-person scramble format consisted of competition in two divisions: a mixed couples as well as a men’s division. The overall tournament winner was determined from both divisions.
This year’s winning team of Tim Winchester, John Nelson Jr., Jim Hartzel, of Jamestown, NY, Lodge 1681 and Jerry Rouse of North Bay FL Lodge 373 came from the men’s division with a score of 29-under par.
The winner of the Mixed Couples Division, with a score of 22-under par, was the team of Dennis Vaughn, Kelly Vaughn, Ron Held and Gina Held of Adrian MI, Lodge 1034.
The winner of the Men’s Division, with a score of 26-under par, was the team of Christopher Anderson, David Anderson, Scott Johnson, and Craig Breter from Jamestown 1681.
