MOOSE CHARITIES
Forward in the Good, Onward in the Right
Can You Be a ‘Guardian’?
Our ‘League’ Is Indeed the Protector and Sustainer of Moose Charitable Works
By DOUGLAS ANDERSON
Director of Philanthropy, Moose Charities
> At the heart of Moose fraternalism is the mission of helping those who have been entrusted to our care, and who need us most--our seniors at Moosehaven and our children and teens at Mooseheart. While every Moose member participates in these two worthy endeavors by simply paying his or her dues, many members (as well as Mooseheart alumni, corporations, foundations, and other friends) also make generous annual outright gifts to Moose Charities to help sustain the work of these two campuses.
Every single donor, and every gift, is greatly appreciated, whether it is $10, $100, $1,000, or more. It is because of the generosity of these annual donors that the good works at Mooseheart and Moosehaven can continue and be enhanced. Because this ongoing annual support is so essential, Moose Charities has developed a number of programs to ensure the proper recognition of these donors.
Any donor who gives $100 or more to Moose Charities, in any form (see facing page) qualifies for our annual giving clubs--and one of the ways we like to say “thank you” is by publishing their names in the Moose Charities Annual Report.
The following annual “Giving Club” designations were created to recognize those who give between $100-$999, donated to Moose Charities for any approved annual operating or capital-improvement project at Mooseheart, Moosehaven or for endowment purposes. The Giving Club delineations are as follows:
- Century: $100-$249
- Leader: $250-$499
- Patron: $500-$749
- Benefactor: $750-$999

The League of Guardians
> Moose Charities’ League of Guardians was formed to further encourage and recognize those donors who actively support the important philanthopic work of the Moose with contributions of $1,000 or more on an annual basis. Guardian members who make significant annual gifts of $1,000 or more have demonstrated their significant commitment to:
- Ensure the quality personnel are in place to provide for the children and seniors entrusted to our care.
- Provide quality facilities at both Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
- Create a solid foundation of loyal annual donors whose continued support helps to ensure the future of our great humanitarian endeavors at Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
Each Guardian member receives special recognition in the Moose Charities Annual Report, plus a unique, personalized display medallion commemorating the year they joined the League of Guardians and their highest giving level. The following League giving levels have been established:
- Guardian: $1,000-$1,499
- Defender: $1,500-$2,499
- Protector: $2,500-$4,999
- Sentinel: $5,000-$9,999
- Champion: $10,000-$24,999
- Distinguished: $25,000-$49,999
- Distinguished Patron: $50,000-$99,999
- Distinguished Benefactor: $100,000 or more.
