‘We Now See ... What
You Knew We Could
Be, All Along’
Tears, Wisdom At Commencement ’05
Shannon McAllister and Samantha Knight proudly entered the Fieldhouse during the procession of the Mooseheart Class of 2005.
> Several among the 23 members of the Class of 2005 could not hold back tears as they gathered in the Fieldhouse at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 28 to receive their high school diplomas and officially leave their home, Mooseheart Child City & School, to enter into the adult world.
Supreme Governor Don Eisel’s address to the graduates reminded them how the graduation ceremony is also a celebration of the daily work by caregivers, teachers, coaches and counselors, who have literally helped guide their lives to this point.
“They’re professionals who have made it their life’s work, to help you find your way. This ceremony today is their reward too,” Eisel said.
Eisel also reminded the graduates how he has been proud to support them since he joined the Moose in Columbus, Ohio 46 years ago, and how proud are hundreds of thousands of Moose across North America, all because of an oath they took to support Mooseheart when they joined the fraternity.
“They keep that promise every night of the week in nearly 2,000 Moose facilities all over North America. They fry fish, or cook spaghetti, or hold bake sales, to raise money for one project or another on this campus,” Eisel said. “And that... repeated in town after town, all over this continent... is what has made this beautiful campus, and the entire Mooseheart program, possible--for you; and for nearly 12,000 young people who came before you, going back 92 years.”
Also addressing the class were Salutatorian Joseph Tezanos-Pinto and Valedictorian Britney Magyarosi.
Tezanos-Pinto said the graduates have learned that life will not get easier when they leave the gates of Mooseheart, but “because of the support from those of you here today, we have been able to overcome the adversities and move on to be successful in our futures.”
Tezanos-Pinto also thanked everyone present for their assistance in helping each of the students to achieve their diplomas, despite many hardships in their lives.
“Your influence on our lives is truly appreciated,” Tezanos-Pinto said.

Graduates Bobby McGee, Tela Davis and Sade Taylor proudly posed for the cameras of family and friends.
Magyarosi recalled all the memories the students made together through the years, and how everyone has matured and grown through all the lessons they have learned through the years.
“I have greatly appreciated each of you being a part of my life and look forward to hearing of your successes,” Magyarosi said. “May we never forget each other, since our unity is how we have been able to discover ourselves in the first place.”
Magyarosi concluded by proclaiming that the class of 2005 can look to the future with pride, and optimism.
“We now see what we are--what you knew we could be all along,” Magyarosi concluded. “Thank you, and God bless you.”

Mooseheart Board Chairman Norm Schneider, PSG, handed a grinning Fernando Brown his diploma.
