After ‘KidsTalks’ to 1,200, ‘I’d Gladly Do It Again’

Top $7K ‘KidsTalk’ Winner Dolvin Speight Stresses How Special Our Moose Youth Awareness Program Is


$7,000 Moose Youth Awareness Scholarship Winner Dolvin Speight will use the money toward tuition at the University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill in the fall.

> The men and women who had a chance to hear the top $7,000 scholarship winner of the Moose Youth Awareness Congress speak were not left with any doubts whether or not Dolvin Speight deserved the top prize.

Speight, selected for his creative “KidsTalk” presentation using bursting and flaming balloons, forcefully told the men and women (without any notes!) during their respective sessions Monday, that his “KidsTalks” on making good and bad decisions was a program he recommends all Moose operations pursue. “I would gladly do this program again,” Speight said. “This program allowed me to use my resources and be creative to deliver a message about making good decisions to over 1,200 children.”

Speight said that if this program continues to advance, it will go from touching thousands of children to maybe even millions.

“It is about more than doing something for our Lodge, it is about who we are as people and making a difference,” he said.”From my experience, I can definitely say this program has been a good decision.”

During Community Service Director Jim Morgan’s report on Sunday afternoon, he reported on the Six-Point Community Service program and how it provides opportunities to reach out to communities in a variety of methods (which he demonstrated), and only requires our time and effort.
