OFFICERS:
The Chairman of the Fellowship Recommendation Committee is selected by the members of the committee during the annual meeting of the Fellows and serves until the next annual meeting. The Chairman must be a Fellow, if a Fellow is available. The Governor or Administrator must be a Fellow to attend meetings of the committee unless the lodge has no Fellows in which case Lodge Officers can act.
MEETINGS:
November is Fellowship Degree Honor Month and the time to organize the annual meeting of the members of the Fellowship Degree of Honor. The Lodge shall mail a written invitation to all Fellows of the Lodge, notifying them of the date, time, and location of the meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to consider Moose Legionnaires meeting the minimum requirements to be eligible to be recommended for the Fellowship Degree of Honor. Only Fellows in good standing with their Lodge and Moose Legion may attend this meeting.
Note: Carefully review and comply with the Lodge Instructions on the Fellowship Recommendation Form. A comprehensive and detailed listing (resume) of the outstanding services rendered by the recommended Moose Legionnaire must be attached to the completed form. Completed form and listing of outstanding services are then returned to the Regional Manager.
Remember: All recommendations are to be considered confidential. A breach of confidentiality will jeopardize the degrees of all the parties involved, including current members and that of the prospective candidate.
This meeting of the Fellows of the Lodge is a good time to review the Fellowship Degree of Honor Booklet with all in attendance. Each Fellow should reflect upon the honor they have received, the commitments made and the greater responsibility they have accepted. When making a recommendation, the committee must be confidant that the Moose Legionnaire under consideration is worthy of the degree and if invited, will accept this greater responsibility.
MINIMUM ELIGIBLILITY REQUIREMENTS:
A Moose Legionnaire must meet the following requirements as of September 30, (current year) to be recommended for the Fellowship Degree of Honor and must:
- have FIVE (5) years continuous membership in the Loyal Order of Moose on his current active membership record.
