For those who wish to offer cash contributions, please review the statement below that was sent to all lodges and chapters yesterday via Official Communications:
The individuals and communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey will soon be looking for assistance wherever they can find it. The Moose Fraternity has always reached out to help those in need and the Moose has a long history of partnering with the Salvation Army, which is providing disaster relief onsite.
For those members organizing fundraisers or collections through their lodges or chapters, the General Governor’s Office has issued a blanket dispensation throughout the month of September enabling those charitable actions to take place. The dispensation requires all net proceeds to be distributed to the Salvation Army or another reputable local agency and may be listed on your quarterly Heart of the Community report due November 15th. Those lodges/chapters that hold special events or fundraisers in relation to Hurricane Harvey may also send digital photographs and brief descriptions to our Communications Department for possible publication online or within Moose Magazine.
Individual members who are interested in helping during this trying time in Texas can send donations directly through the Salvation Army.
Our thoughts are with those whose lives have been impacted by this historic storm.
