Moose members from all across North America donated over $22,600 in cash donations to 3 Tampa organizations who serve homeless families:
Tampa Police’s homeless Initiative which previously had a zero budget, received over $9,000 to provide families with a hotel room the first night or two they become homeless.
Metropolitan Ministries received close to $6,000 cash towards operational costs as they provide transitional housing, counseling, food and job placement assistance to over 100 families and their 400 children. We also gave them nearly $3,000 of food, diapers, and other baby supplies.
The local Salvation Army received over $3,000 to help Tampa families on the verge of becoming homeless. We also gave them nearly $1,000 worth of desperately needed sheets, blankets and towels. We also gave 19 cases worth $1,520 to the Tampa Fire Rescue and the Hillsboro Sheriff’s department. These will not only be given to comfort children who are involved in fires or domestic abuse situations but will also be given to pediatric burn victims at Florida’s Camp Hopetake.
Many Moose members also gave blood through One Blood and over 50 local Moose members volunteered to work our EZ ID event at the Florida Aquarium and successfully identified 106 children so that they can be quickly located if they go missing / get abducted. What a difference we made this year in Tampa! Thank you to everyone who contributed!
