Connellsville, PA 16 Marks Centennial With Enrollment, Building Local Awareness

> This past February, Connellsville, PA Lodge 16, the oldest Lodge in Pennsylvania, celebrated its 100th anniversary in grand style.

Then-Supreme Governor Bill Scott visited the 550-member Lodge with his wife Duke.

As part of the celebrations, the Lodge placed a float in the Fayette County Fireman’s Convention parade.

On the front of the float, the Lodge listed the many community services the Lodge supports. In the photo above, Emerald Reilly and Dawn Bevan hold the banner.

In the course of his visit, Scott was called on to make a presentation to the township’s volunteer fire department (above) and sat with an enrollment class (below). Happy Centennial, Lodge 16!

> This past April, the Family Center of Salem, MA Lodge 218 held an enrollment ceremony with Past Supreme Governor Tom Hatcher as its Official Visitor. Hatcher is shown here with members of local police departments, fire departments and ambulance services, holding Tommy Moose, the popular stuffed Moose designed to be used to help calm a child in a time of crisis. Hatcher took the Tommy Moose program from Connecticut to the entire Moose fraternity in 2003-04, and the program turned to be a smash hit.

Tulsa 862 Reserves Honor, Hearts For Evelyn Pearce

> The parking lot at Tulsa, OK Lodge 862 had always been a “park where you like” lot.

That’s no longer the case--but it took a special Women of the Moose co-worker to earn the first reserved space in the Lodge lot.

Evelyn Pearce (center, holding plaque) was honored with her own space in recognition for her career devoted to service to the Lodge and community.

Among the projects Pearce helped organize were carpeting for the dining room, tile for the ballroom and the large U.S. flag that flies over the Lodge.

To show their appreciation for Pearce’s work, members painted red hearts on Pearce’s special parking space.

> Kansas City, KS Lodge 1999 remembered its veterans in a big way in 2006 with a chicken-fried steak dinner and a dance. Lodge service veterans were honored (above) and mementoes of their time in service were displayed (below). Co-workers of Chapter 1562 remembered today’s veterans by assembling packages for soldiers now serving in Iraq.

> Malden, MA Lodge 1910 hosted its first Halloween party for special-needs children. The children benefited from use of the Lodge hall, food and drinks and a DJ to which the kids could dance. At the end of the evening, all the children posed for a picture to show off their costumes.

> If the faces look tired, there’s a reason--though the members of Stockdale, CA Lodge 2178 were certainly satisfied with their all-day efforts. The Stockdale Moose held its third annual Make-a-Wish Foundation antique car show. The event raised some $20,000, which was enough to help make wishes come true for seven Make-a-Wish children and their families.
