Convention Concludes With Rousing ‘Red, White & Blue Finale’

> The 2007 International Convention ended on Tuesday with a patriotic flourish. There was a ceremony to honor World War II veterans, in particular veterans who live at Moosehaven. These new forms carry easier-to-understand directions for mailing dues payments; and as a courtesy, include a temporary membership card (good for 60 days)
There was an audio-visual presentation with the late John Wayne reading the recitation “America: Why I Love Her.”
When that finished, there were indoor pyrotechnics behind Director General Airey (above). And to organist Diana York’s patriotic standards, balloons were released (below), to the enjoyment of the final-session attendees.

Tuesday’s Joint Closing Session at the Rosen Centre Ballroom was the setting for the now-traditional Joint Installation of Officers for both the Loyal Order of Moose and the Women of the Moose. The WOTM Deputy Grand Regents for 2007-08 take their oath.

Grand Regent Marge Walsh is formally installed by Past Grand Regent Joan Collins.

During the installation of men’s officers, Director General Airey took time to give a special presentation to Past Supreme Governor William R. Scott and his wife Duke. Business commitments forced Scott to step down as Supreme Governor in February. Airey offered gifts from the fraternity to both Mr. and Mrs. Scott.
