Vonhoff: LCL.Net Fixes Working

Centralized Dues ‘exceptions’ drop from
18,000 to 500

Director of Information Systems
Eric Vonhoff

> In just one short year, Moose International’s computerized membership management system has improved to the point to where it can no longer be termed remotely close to a “mess.”

That was the positive news delivered by Director of Information Systems Eric Vonhoff to the Rosen Centre audience during Monday’s Joint General Session.
And while there are numerous details to be addressed, Vonhoff said the progress made to this point will help “get the computer programs back to being a tool that can make your jobs easier.”

Vonhoff said that improvements have been made across the board. He said much work has been done in order to allow the Moose Membership Management System (MMMS) used at Moose International to work with the LCL.net system used by fraternal units.

Initially, this caused a backlog of 9,000 dues “exceptions” in late 2005, which grew to 18,000 in early ’06 but has now been reduced to 500.

Successive improvements to the LCL.net program are set to continue this fall, Vonhoff said, with the release of version 1.0.5 which will incorporate changes to the General Laws. In November, LCL.net version 2.0 will make LCL.net compatible with Microsoft Vista Operating System, will upgrade the Quickbooks installed to a 2007 version and will add two dozen additional enhancements.

Vonhoff also reported that the “QuickPay” system for paying dues on mooseintl.org has been well-received, as has the ability to access one’s membership records online.

Vonhoff said there has been an “Ideas” area added to the Web site which allows members a chance to give feedback not only on the computer system but the fraternity in general.
