Moose Charities’ March of Checks Totals $148,326

Moose Charities’ then-Director of Development Jill Kennedy (far right) presides over this year’s March of Checks during Monday’s Supreme Lodge General Session at the Peabody Hotel ballroom. Check totals were tabulated even as officials of state and provincial Moose Associations worked their way through the ballroom to present the funds raised by their Associations in the past year for Moose Charities. Kennedy announced to the audience that $148,326 was contributed in this year’s March of Checks.

There was a steady stream of convention-goers to the Moose Charities booth on the Midway, across from the Peabody Hotel International ballroom. In addition to discussion with staffers including then-Director of Development Jill Kennedy (far right), booth visitors could drop a contribution in the Mooseheart/Moosehaven Endowment Fund buckets, sign up for a chance to throw a pie at Director General William B. Airey, or discuss matters pertaining to Moose Charities in general. In his remarks to the Rosen Centre ballroom crowd on Monday, Moose Charities Executive Director Len Solfa stressed that it is “necessary to reestablish the basic fundraising concepts of trust and delivery of product. Solfa asked members to “help us redefine our direction and focus, and we will help you as a Lodge, a Chapter, and as members to have both a place of belonging and an identity with causes that are not only noble in thought but also wonderful in deeds.”
